Brakes not stopping car. 03 Lincoln LS. What do I do?

Check brake fluid. If low fill it up, test the brakes out. If it feels safe drive it to the mechanic and get an estimate, if it's ridiculous get rid of it. These cars are a pile of crap. One shop I worked at it cost a man 5000 bucks to rebuild the front end on one of these cars.
