1993 ford thunderbird no overdrive?

i have a 93 t bird with an aod trans 94 and up had different trans that overdrive went out few years back because of the adjustment cable being messed up which is what killed o/d but my question is since ive been over 2k miles on hwy in it since iv bought it would it hurt to take a 400 mile road trip or would the trans go all the way out??
