Do you have a parenting plan in place through the courts? If not then your ex has no real set rights in regard to visitation. You would be able to go and get him anytime you want and your ex would have no say about it. You wouldn't even have to let your ex see him if you didn't want. If you do have a parenting plan in place I would get a lawyer and try to amend the parenting plan due to the suicide attempt thing.
